A fine rule, right up until you read the postmortem, and then the internal emails, and then the second set of internal emails. This blog operates under the inverse: some things that look like incompetence are incompetence, and some things that look like incompetence had a product manager, a quarterly target, and a legal review.

Expect writing about security, incentives, systems that fail in suspiciously profitable ways, and the occasional grudging admission that sometimes it really was just a typo.
